It was Iain MacMillan MacAulay who resurrected the clan in the nineties and who in 2002 became the first elected Chief of the Clan MacAulay Association. A new plaque to commemorate the planting of the tree was made by Rosslea hotel and presented by Jillian Jackson to Clan Secretary Walter MacAulay.
