Barry Macaulay helps the blind children of The Gambia

Three blind/partially sighted people and two guides from Northern Ireland visit the Gambian Organisation for Visually Impaired [GOVI]. The visit had four aspects, providing music, facilitating cultural exchanges using music with the children of GOVI. Sport and leisure, facilitating sporting workshops with the young people, including football and bottia. Bringing games, toys, daily living aides and some IT equipment with access technology. Writing blogs, and recording interviews with teachers and children for broadcast. One Major success of this visit was, securing national coverage of GOVI on national TV news, raising the profile of the organisation and school which is very low in the Gambia.
