THE JACOBITE ARMY REVEALED – What they really looked like – presented by Jenn Scott, author of Better is the Proud Plaid

Jenn will tell us about the weapons, clothing and accoutrements of the army of Charles Edward Stuart. She will cut through some of the myths and give us a picture of what the army wore and fought with throughout the campaign leading up to Culloden.
“Jenn Scott is an historian, researcher, and writer based in Edinburgh where she works as Secretary and Archivist for the Stewart Society. Jenn is a re-enactor primarily of the 18th century and the late 15th century.
She is interested in the period from the Wars of the Roses to the Jacobite Risings, and is actively involved in the interpretation, promotion and protection of Scottish battlefields as a trustee of the Scottish Battlefield Trust. She has spent over 20 years developing her understanding and knowledge of the clothes and material culture of the past. Jenn studied politics at the University of Edinburgh and has an MA in Heritage from University of Surrey. “
