One of the most prominent MacAulays in Ireland (she’s on their money!) and in the United States is the Irish-born Sister Catherine McAuley. She founded the Sisters of Mercy and by extension, Mercy Health, the 5th largest healthcare system in the United States. Mercy Health is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
