How to get to Stornoway

You have options when planning your journey to Stornoway (please note that there are other public transportation options that are not included here).

If you have a car and are journeying through the glorious Highlands to get to the Islands, a great option is to take the CalMac Ferry. It’s a wonderful experience. The ferry terminal is conveniently located near the Caladh Inn.

Ferry Option A: Ullapool to Stornoway (2 1/2 hours)

Ferry Option B: Uig Ferry, Isle of Skye to Tarbert, Isle of Harris (1 hour 40 minutes) followed by a lovely drive up to Stornoway
