One of the most popular International Gathering events are the Heavy-ish Games. Modeled after the real-deal held at Highland Games events, the Clan MacAulay Heavy-ish Games are modified to accommodate the more athletically challenged.
Saturday afternoon at the recent Gathering in Cape Breton Nova Scotia found MacAulays of all ages and stages competing for bragging rights in three events: the hammer throw for distance, haggis hurling, and the caber toss. Saturday’s gale force winds (no kidding), made it even more fun (or is that “funny”). Much fun and laughter ensued, especially when the hammer ended up in a tree!
