You have options when planning your journey to Cape Breton!

U-Drive

Experience the beauty of the Maritimes by driving to Cape Breton. If renting a car from the United States and driving into Canada, ensure that your rental agreement covers entry into Canada (most do but it’s best to read the fine print).

In the event you plan to drive your car from the United States into Canada, please be aware that you should contact your car insurance company and obtain a Canadian Non-Resident Inter-Province Vehicle Liability Insurance Card.  They are free from the insurance companies (printed on a special type of paper) and are very important in the event you are pulled over or in an accident while driving in Canada.   If you have multiple car vehicles, you can obtain one for each car that you have insured.
