Tartan Day is a relatively young holiday originating in Nova Scotia in 1987. It then spread to Scotland and other areas in the 1990’s and 2000’s. Today we celebrate Scottish heritage and cultural contributions. The Tartan, a patterned woolen cloth, is most commonly associated with Scotland and Scottish clans.
