Our Commissioner for West Virginia and Maryland, Pat Ware, attended the Mountain State Scottish and Celtic Gathering on Saturday, May 20. The games are an annual event held in Doddridge County Park, near West Union, West Virginia. Scottish/Celtic ancestry is the largest demographic present in North Central West Virginia but those folks must have lost a few of their Scottish genes along the way because the rainy day kept many of them away. Not Clan MacAulay! Braving the less than spectacular weather, Pat and husband, Fred kept the faith and enjoyed the day in spite of the damp. Pat even made a new friend with the winner of the first prize winner in the pet show who stopped to visit towards day end and never left her side the rest of the day! Take a look at a few of the photos Pat shared. Also visit our Photo Gallery to see other recent and past events.
