Today, 11 November, many countries around the world commemorate those who died in military service, and honour those who served in wartime. The day is called Remembrance Day in many Commonwealth countries including Canada. In the United States, it’s called Veterans’ Day. A date chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the end of World War I, on this day we honor veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
