Lughnasadh or Lughnasa is an official Irish holiday and Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season.
With the joy of an abundant harvest, our ancestors would burn great bonfires on hilltops and dance the night away. Historically, it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. In Modern Irish it is called Lúnasa, in Scottish Gaelic: Lùnastal, and in Manx: Luanistyn.
